The Atomic Hardz Shad Deep 40mm Suspending is a compact jerkbait-style hardbody lure designed to target fish around shallow structure. With a diving depth of approximately 1.0m, this deep-running version allows anglers to work the lure closer to weed beds, rock walls, pylons, wharves and other productive fish-holding areas.
Unlike a floating lure that quickly rises when paused, the Shad Deep features a suspending action, allowing it to remain in the strike zone during pauses. Crank the lure down to the desired depth, then twitch and pause it beside structure or just above weed beds, giving fish time to move in and strike.
The lure produces a tight wobble and rolling action, while its erratic movement when twitched makes it an effective presentation for wary and aggressive predatory fish. It can be retrieved steadily or worked with a classic twitch-and-pause technique.

When fishing open flats where long casts are required, a longer rod can help increase casting distance. Casting downwind and using the wind to your advantage can also help get this lightweight lure further.
